Due to the altered schedule during Finals Week, the PC and Console Gaming Labs will not be open during their regularly scheduled hours.
Because DeFRAG and DePaul University understand that students have last minute assignments, the following list is the only time labs will be scheduled to be open during Finals Week.
PC/Console Gaming Labs
Wednesday, November 18th: 12-6 PM
Thursday, November19th: 12-6 PM
Monday, November 23rd: 12-6 PM
Labs may be open during other times on a Mod volunteer basis.
Good Luck with Finals, and have a fun and safe Winter Break!
“What if you saw the world with your ears? Inspired by M.C. Escher’s classic optical illusion and the echolocation of dolphins, Devil’s Tuning Fork challenges you to explore a new mode of perception through sound visualization.
As the month of June dwindled down a group of DePaul students formed to create the DePaul Game Elites. This group was assigned the “simple” task to create an original game in six months to compete in the Independent Games Festival. Advised by industry veterans Alex Seropian, Patrick Curry, Bill Muehl, Joe Linhoff, and Scott Roberts the team composed of six programmers, six artists, two designers, and one producer.
After six months of conceptualizing, prototyping, and development the group is proud to introduce our finished game, Devil’s Tuning Fork. ” – DGE Team

Hope everyone is getting their sleep schedules back to normal after Geek ‘Til Dawn. If you didn’t get enough zombie killing at Geek ‘Til Dawn, we’re hosting LEFT 4 DEAD NIGHT this Thursday, Oct 29th in the 9th floor PC Lab from 7-11.
So with Halloween approaching, and L4D2 coming out soon, hit up the PC Lab Thursday Night to get some practice headshotting infected!
Just wanted to send a quick thank you out to all the people who made this Geek ‘Til Dawn the most successful one yet. We had over 200 people show up, and as of now we have yet to hear one thing from DePaul about our nightlong festivities.
DeFRAG has had one of the most successful and active years ever, and that’s due in large part to our ever growing membership. This is especially true for an event like Geek ‘Til Dawn that requires a lot of work from you guys as well.
So give yourselves a nice pat on the back for a job well done, and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
Heads Up: November 13th is our Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Tournament!

Ed Fries was vice president of game publishing at Microsoft during much of the Xbox’s lifecycle. He was a prime evangelist of the platform to game developers and had an important role in the acquisition of developers Bungie Studios, Ensemble Studios and Rare.
Fries left Microsoft in January 2004. He consulted with a startup company, FireAnt, that was later sold to Sony Online Entertainment. He was also involved with several start ups including AGEIA, which aims to bring the first ‘physics accelerator’ chip for games to market, and Emotiv Systems, a company building an EEG based game controller.
Fries is currently working on bringing his favorite game, World of Warcraft, to three-dimensional life with his startup company, Figure Prints. The company makes 3D models of a player’s characters using a fleet of Z Corporation printers. Within the first 12 hours of his company going live, over 4,000 people had requested an order for a model. Fries explains in an interview that each model can take about 1 week to complete.
Due to technical difficulties over the weekend DeTAG registration will be extended through Sunday October 25th. Remember you need to have your account CampusConnect Verified. Once your verified go here to register. Thanks for all of your patience!
